Using Tcl scripts
When we have our project running in the ISE Project Navigator we can easily generate a Tcl script that can be used to control the whole implementation flow from synthesis to bitstream generation.
From the Project menu select <Generate Tcl Script>.
Click OK to generate the Tcl script LX9_LXN_TOP.tcl. Here is the result.
Enabling all processes
By removing the comment character (#) we can enable the implementation processes.
Running the implementation script
--> cd .../LX9_LXN_TOP
Execute the command <run_process> to run the complete implementation flow.
Writing Tcl scripts
Here is an example of a TCL script that will configure the FPGA. The script creates an input file to the iMPACT tool and starts iMPACT in batch mode. This information is taken from Doulos on-line training website.
Running the Tcl script
Use this command to run the script:
--> xtclsh lx9_mb_config.tcl
